About the Owner

Valerie Lovelace, founder of Second Wind Homeopathy
Valerie Lovelace is the founder of Second Wind Homeopathy, in Poland, Maine. She is a retired Navy Lieutenant and recently left a corporate career for full-time pursuit of study as a homeopath.  She studies with the School of Homeopathy, Devon England, and she is a Master Reiki practitioner (Usui method).  She is the mother of three, an artist, and a motorcycle enthusiast.
“I believe Homeopathy offers hope where western medicine may fall short and Reiki  enhances the sense of well-being and helps to relieve anxiety. I think we can do our best healing and recovery when we are more relaxed and less afraid.  I feel privileged to be learning and gaining insight into these alternatives.”
Val’s life experiences led to a strong faith in the Divine and to the belief that all things are possible. It is with this open-minded approach she first embraced holistic alternatives.
“There is a place for all schools of thought,” she believes, “Homeopathy cannot set a broken bone, Acupuncture cannot excise a tumor, and Reiki cannot replace a lost limb. Likewise, I don’t believe that conventional western practices can always offer hope for chronic conditions. In truth, most western treatments and medicines generally are able to offer only temporary relief in the case of chronic illnesses. And sometimes people just get worse with often unfortunate side affects. Over-the-counter medications and pharmaceuticals treat body parts and these medicines assume that all parts are created equal."

"We are beings that should be fully integrated on the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical planes. Our long-term health and vitality truly depends on being treated as a whole, not as a pile of individual parts.”

“I am obviously a fan of homeopathy because it works for me personally and suits my personal philosophy regarding the mind-body balance.  I would encourage all to explore safe holistic alternatives to achieve a balanced state.”
